Les Variétés welcomes delegates, exhibitors and organisers at 33 boulevard du Maréchal Foch, a few minutes from the Jean Monnier convention centre, in a house open since 1902.
The problem with conference lunches
Seventy-five minutes between sessions, fifteen people leaving the building at the same moment as three hundred others, and a resumption at two o'clock. That is the real constraint, and it has nothing in common with an ordinary lunch. We know it: state your restart time when you book and the service is built around it. A table that must leave at 1.50 p.m. is treated as such from the moment it orders.
Five spaces, from thirteen to forty-three seats
Entrée Foch seats thirteen, Arrière Foch seventeen, the Bressigny room twenty-five, the Salle Haute thirty, and the terrace forty-three when the weather allows. Eighty-five seats indoors, a hundred and twenty-eight in total. These numbers are counted table by table, not rounded up: when we confirm twenty-five covers in the Bressigny room, the room holds them. For a small committee or lunch with a speaker, Arrière Foch offers quiet without being a separate room.
Hosting speakers in the evening
The post-conference dinner obeys different rules: longer, later, less predictable. We close at 2 a.m., which lets an evening unfold without anyone watching the clock. A plenary that overruns, a reception that drags on, a missed evening train: the house is still open. Simply call to say you are running late and the table stays yours.
What we serve, and where it comes from
French brasserie cooking, prepared here. Our meat is French. Our fish comes from Maison Savia, in Saumur. That is not a line on a menu, it is a sourcing constraint we chose, and it explains why some dishes change from one day to the next. For a group it is simpler to agree on two or three choices in advance: plates leave the kitchen far faster, which matters when you are due back at two.
The address, and why it is convenient
33 boulevard du Maréchal Foch sits in the centre of Angers, between Place du Ralliement, Saint-Maurice cathedral and the château. A delegate staying in town walks home. A participant who came by train walks back to Saint-Laud without another taxi. And for someone who has never set foot in Angers, “boulevard Foch” is an instruction everybody understands — no small thing when fifteen people have to meet in one place.
The delegation lunch, in detail
A delegation is not a group of friends: there is an implicit order of precedence, people who must talk to each other and others who are there to listen, and a conversation to conduct in seventy-five minutes. That takes preparation. Tell us how many you are, who should sit together, and your restart time. Agree on two or three dishes in advance: the table is then served in one go, and you keep the conversation instead of cutting it every eight minutes. That is the difference between a useful lunch and one merely endured.

Arrière Foch, seventeen seats, set back from the entrance: the one to ask for when you need to talk seriously. The Bressigny room, twenty-five seats, for a full committee. The neighbourhood, for your delegates
Boulevard Foch is central, between Place du Ralliement, Saint-Maurice cathedral and the château of Angers, and within walking distance of Saint-Laud station. In practice: a delegate staying in town walks back, a speaker leaving that evening reaches the station without a taxi, and anyone with two free hours can visit the château. For an organiser, it is an address you can put in writing without fearing that fifteen people will get lost.

What matters to a host is not age in itself but what it implies. A house that has been serving for a hundred and twenty-four years has seen every situation, including yours. A plenary running half an hour over, a speaker arriving late, a delegation that doubles at the last minute: these are ordinary incidents, not disasters. You will not have to explain your situation, only state it.
What we do not promise
We have no private car park, no room closed by a door, no projector. A space set apart, yes; a meeting room, no. If what you need is a working session with a presentation, say so and we will tell you plainly rather than let you discover it on site with your guests.

For a group, call 02 41 88 46 62 rather than using the online booking: we will agree the room, the restart time and the menu choices together. For two to six people, online booking is enough and shows the slots genuinely free. We open at 9.30 a.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. on Saturday, and we are closed on Sunday.
