Les Variétés is a historic brasserie in the heart of Angers, at 33 boulevard du Maréchal Foch, 49100 Angers. We welcome the people of Angers, professionals and visitors around generous French cooking, in a warm atmosphere, since 1902.
An end-of-year meal in the centre of Angers, without leaving boulevard Foch
What is special about December is that it packs into three weeks what a brasserie does all year: tables of colleagues, families getting together, people in a hurry between two rounds of shopping. This house has been hosting that month for a hundred and twenty-four years, and it has learned that a successful end-of-year meal depends less on the decorations than on three simple things: a room where you can hear each other talk, a service that does not keep you waiting between courses, and a bill announced before you order.
Boulevard du Maréchal Foch is a central thoroughfare, within walking distance of the place du Ralliement, Saint-Laud station and the château. For a team half of whom come from elsewhere, it is the easiest address to give: no one gets lost, and no one needs their car.
For families, and for those doing their shopping
In December, people do not eat at set times: they eat when they can go on no longer. The menu is served at lunch and dinner; in between, dishes in jars — duck parmentier, cottage pie, pea risotto — are served at any time, with a hot chocolate or a dessert. The dining room, for its part, does not close from opening time until 2 am.
Company meals are decided now
An end-of-year lunch is not booked in December: it is decided in October, when someone in the company is tasked with finding a venue for thirty people on a Thursday lunchtime. At that point, tables in the city centre are still free — three weeks later, they no longer are. A group request can be made online or by phone, and the team gets back to you with the rooms available on your dates.
Four rooms, up to eighty-five guests
Salle Haute, thirty seats upstairs. Salle Bressigny, twenty-five. Arrière Foch, seventeen, set back from the entrance. Entrée Foch, thirteen. The terrace adds forty-three seats under a large awning. Beyond thirty guests, your group is spread over several rooms: the team arranges the layout with you, rather than leaving you to discover it on arrival.
What the kitchen is preparing
The festive menu has not yet been finalised. What has been decided is what it will revolve around: seafood, fine festive charcuterie, and drinks chosen to accompany without overpowering. It will be published on this page as soon as it is ready, and on the online menu.
The group set menus, in the meantime
They apply all year round and remain available during the festive season, lunch and dinner, for groups of six guests or more: starter, main course and dessert at €34.90 per person. Booking twenty-four hours in advance, and each group is priced before your visit.
What we are not
We are not a function venue and we do not claim to be: no dance floor, no caterer to keep you going until the small hours. The house can, however, be booked privately, in full or room by room, for up to eighty-five guests. What we know how to do is seat a group properly, serve it without rushing it, and let it leave at the time it had planned.

Frequently asked questions
The answers
to your questions.
How many people can you host for an end-of-year meal?
Up to eighty-five guests indoors, spread over four rooms: thirty in the Salle Haute, twenty-five in the Bressigny room, seventeen in Arrière Foch and thirteen in Entrée Foch. The terrace adds forty-three seats. Beyond thirty people, the group is spread over several rooms.
When should I book for December?
As early as possible for a group: weekday lunchtime slots go first, usually from October. A group booking must be made at least twenty-four hours in advance, but in December that is no longer enough.
Is there a special menu for the festive season?
It is being prepared, around seafood, festive charcuterie and drinks chosen for the occasion. It will be published on this page as soon as it is finalised. In the meantime, the house set menus apply, and the full menu remains available at lunch and dinner.
Are you open between Christmas and New Year?
The house is open Monday to Saturday, from 9:30 am on weekdays and 10 am on Saturdays, until 2 am. It is closed all day on Sundays, except on exceptional dates: during the Christmas market, it opens on Sundays 29 November, 6, 13 and 20 December 2026, from 11:30 am to 4 pm. A group can also be welcomed on a Sunday by reservation, after confirmation with the team. The exact dates for the festive period are announced on this page; if in doubt about a particular date, a call to +33 2 41 88 46 62 will settle it straight away.
